Just Burn (Poem)

I know, I know.

You feel a sense of panic when

maybe it seems another

droplet of mist-ridden eyelash

might fall upon my flesh.

I realize you feel

your flame is enough to

chase away the wind itself and

keep any breeze from fluffing

the warmth you keep inside of me.

But, that’s the thing–

fire doesn’t fight.

It burns.

Just burn for me.
